1820 Settler Families

The 10th Edition of Hugo Slater's '1820 Settler Family Trees'  contains infomation on more than 105,000 individuals including ± 59,000 direct/blood descendants. Approximately 900 portrait photographs and 5,400 documents photographs are also included. The data is provided in two formats:

• the Cumberland Family Tree format; and
• as a Gedcom file which can be imported into genealogy programs.

Please note that the Cumberland Family Tree program is designed for the Windows operating environment. It will however also run on a Mac providing you use a Windows emulator or a Windows virtual window (for example VMWare Fusion).

The following is included:

• A database of 1820 Settler Family Trees;
• Other Eastern Cape Families that were involved;
• Research from genealogists around the world collected into one place;
• Photographs of Death Notices, Wills, Graves and other documents;
• Entries taken from early Registers, rather than names looked for;
• Ability to print out charts;
• Internet addresses and newsgroups;and
• A GEDCOM file with most of the information contained in the program.
